British Builder & Developer October 2009
Commenting on a recently completed project, Charlie Sharman, Chairman of Cantifix Ltd says, "New extensions to older properties come in a variety of different forms, but the easiest form is single storey with a flat roof. The technology of roof membranes has advanced sufficiently for them to be virtually maintenance-free and this has precipitated a return to this functional design. Of course this still leaves room for design statements and often this includes glass. In this instance the glass space on the left becomes a room within a room, whilst the rest of the glazing is intergrated, but more conventional. Glass is an essential component of modern living and its adaptability and flexibility mean that the design is capable of adding more than just functionality."
