pureglaze

Cantifix expand into glass wine cellars, with the Pureglaze door being a perfect solution.

We have completed a number of wine cellar projects, and have become certain that Pureglaze is the ideal product for this application.

Keeping a wine collection safe, secure and well-maintained is a top priority for any wine collector. If a cooling system is installed in a wine cellar, then the door specified should be an exterior grade door. A wine cellar door must be functional, well-sealed and well-constructed, so as to keep the temperature and humidity inside at the optimal level. Providing a constant temperature can be considered the single most important factor that can be controlled to allow the wines to age at their best.

With a typical U-value of 1.5W/m2/K, the Pureglaze door leaf meets these requirements perfectly. The door has an aluminium frame within the glazed unit, and is as close as you can come to an 'all-glass' door whilst still being double-glazed. The Pureglaze door is currently available up to a maximum height of 3000mm, and a maximum width of 1000mm, however larger sizes may be possible.

These same principles apply to any room which requires precise temperature control, whether commercial or residential, for example cheese rooms, delicatessens, game larders...the possibilities are endless.

Protect your wine collection with Pureglaze, whilst creating an inviting and visually appealing wine cellar.
Sustainable Glazing in the Education Sector - November 2010

interwest

The recent merger between Cantifix and Interwest opens the door to expand our project range into sustainable schools.

Interwest, expert in curtain walling, education and public sector projects, is known in the South West for delivering projects on time, on budget, and with a high level of attention to detail. Innovative company Cantifix has always aimed to be at the forefront of technological advances. In the last few years, this has related to better insulated and more intelligent glazing, with a view to achieving greater energy conservation and sustainability of buildings.

Education and sustainability are two very closely-linked issues, and dozens of new zero-carbon schools look likely to be built in the UK over the next decade. The Carbon Trust has set schools a target of a 53% drop on current emissions by 2020, and of this it estimates a massive 44% will be covered by building and adapting current school buildings. By 2020, most secondary schools and many primary schools are likely to have benefited from either low-carbon or zero-carbon new-build, or from refurbishment projects which reduce their carbon footprint. Some will also have benefited from specific targeted energy-efficiency retrofit measures undertaken to address the most wasteful aspects of the buildings and equipment.*

A large proportion of the wasted energy is likely to come from heat lost through old or badly fitted windows, so it is probable that a large proportion of the retrofits will involve glazing work. If this glass is double-glazed, with the very low U values specified by Cantifix, it will bring great benefits in terms of energy conservation and therefore sustainability. Using a lot of glass in these new-builds and retrofits will also allow natural light to flood the building, which can be very beneficial to the human body and mind.

With the high-performance glass expertise of Cantifix, and the vast experience in the education sector provided by Interwest, we feel that together we are ideally placed to meet this growing need in the market. Sky-Frame A Status Awarded to Cantifix - November 2010

 • Date: 25th November 2010
 • Category: News
Sky-Frame Sliding Doors

Cantifix is the UK's only glazing company to receive A Status from Sky-frame, makers of Europe's finest "frameless" sliding doors.

Cantifix has been the leading partner to Sky-frame AG in the UK for the past 4 years, and the most successful in Europe outside the home market of Sky-frame in the last 2 years. This success has been rewarded by becoming the first and only "A-Partner" of Sky-frame in the UK, and with this brings many commercial advantages over our competitors. This is not only good news for Cantifix but also good news for customers looking to install Europe's finest "frameless" sliding doors.

In this current market we recognise that even with design intent remaining the primary driver in selecting products, budgets are a consideration and our A-Partner status provides Cantifix with access to the best technical and financial support in the market. This enables Cantifix to corroborate directly with Sky-frame on developing schemes that suit your requirements, whether this is for stand-alone doors, or for a project that integrates Sky-frame doors in with structural glass.

A Swiss-made, precision-built product demands experienced fitting, and Cantifix is proud that every team has access to a fitter that has attended training in Geneva and who themselves are supervised by a Sky-frame trained manager. It is this attention to detail that singles out Cantifix as the preferred choice as an A-Partner to Sky-frame AG, and the company most often asked to supply and install a Sky-frame.

To find out more about Sky-frame, call 020 8203 6203 and ask to speak to the Sales team.
