Folding Doors

Product Details

The particular benefits of a folding door (also known as a "sliding folding door") are that they can allow the entire opening to be accessed, whilst also being conveniently used as a single door into the garden.
Folding doors can be incorporated into a structural glazing scheme, but careful consideration must be given to the support of the frame and the possible transmission of load to the doors.
The weight of the doors are supported from the wheels in the bottom track, but the nature of folding doors is that particular stresses are at play when the doors are being opened. This will often mean that a steel support beam will have to be included in the scheme; however glass can also be used in this capacity.
The Cantifix folding door is a thermally broken Schuco system with a sight line of 45mm. It is preferable to keep the width of each leaf below 1.2 metres as the ease of use can be compromised above this. The height will be dependent on the leaf width, but it is possible for them to be as tall as 3 metres with a maximum area of 3.2 square metres per leaf.
There is no limit to the number of leafs there can be in one opening, but any more than 5 can start to become quite bulky when open.
