Glass Roofs
Product Details
What could be easier than forming an opening in the roof and fixing a structurally bonded rooflight in the space. In no time the transformation is complete with a minimum of disruption.
The great advantage of a frameless glass roof is that there is virtually no maintenance required and very little chance of any degradation of the materials. The bond between glass, aluminium and silicone is completely stable and the roof will look the same in 10 years time as it does when it is installed.
If there is a join in the roof glazing, then the maximum unsupported span for that glass is about 1.9 metres. Beyond this dimension the glass will have to be supported and this can be done in a variety of materials.
If the roof is in one panel of glass then the overall dimensions are only limited by the availability of the glass and the method of installation. If a roof panel weighs in excess of 100kg (2.5 square metres) then it is probable that a crane will be needed.
