Glass Spacers
Product Details
When glass was first used as a structural element within a building, there were many restrictions due to the limited technology.
Over the last 15 years it has been possible to make larger and thicker glass units to cope with the increased engineering demands. Traditionally the units were made with a solid spacer around the perimeter (usually black), which allowed minimal visual impact.
It is now possible to replace the solid spacer bar with a rod of glass. This rod is bonded to the glass panels either side with an ultra violet adhesive. The affect is of virtually seamless glass, with the joins between the panels sealed with translucent silicone.
