Single Glazing
Product Details
Building structures from single-glazed panels is a very pure way of using glass, but unsuitable for most residential projects.
The insulation properties of a single sheet of glass are very poor and any opening sections will be neither weatherproof nor draught proof. However in situations where the only requirement is for keeping out the rain and all the glass is fixed, the results can be spectacular.
This is also true of internal screens, where rooms can be divided without losing any light or the feeling of space. Sometimes there is a need for a physical barrier, such as beside a staircase, and the use of single glazing then becomes ideal and obvious.
