Project Details

The purpose of a glass enclosure is not always to increase the usable space within a house. It can become a lightwell to bring much needed light to basement areas and a means of connecting different areas and even different floors.
This small glass box gives views of the roof terrace to the main living area, which is open to the kitchen on the floor below. The clear glass balustrades provide the necessary safety barrier into the lightwell.
The glass wall on the boundary has been sandblasted and had to be fire-rated to prevent the spread of a fire from one property to another.
