Project Details
Even the smallest areas can add to the impression of space without contributing a great deal to the habitable volume. Usually the area between an existing extension and your neighbour's property becomes a dumping ground for bicycles and the detritus of life, but it can easily be incorporated inside.
This simple sloping roof includes aluminium extrusions to span the width of the opening as an alternative to glass beams and a single sliding door to gain access to the garden. The roof glass is structurally bonded to the aluminium and this creates a smooth, uninterrupted line to the external surface. When fitted correctly a combination of glass, silicone and aluminium produces a permanent, stable weatherproof membrane, which is as long lasting as anything on the market.
