Project Details

In the City of London space is at a premium and the opportunity to expand upwards should not be ignored.
On the roof above a busy restaurant it was possible to construct an extra floor and include a roof garden above that. The increase to the usable area is dramatic and the use of glass emphasises the openness of the design.
Both the front and back walls are sliding Skyframe doors and the entrance to the roof garden is through a glass box that brings light into the core of the building. The deck of the roof also includes several glass floor units. All the glass was craned onto the roof level over a weekend, to avoid the crowds during the week.
