Project Details

There was a need for a Visitors Centre and the original Georgian building did not have a room big enough for their requirements.
It was decided to sympathetically link the main house and the stables with a fully glazed addition. From the outside the impression of a light structure is maintained by the use of large vertical fixed panels and a series of PureGlaze windows.
The PureGlaze window is indistinguishable externally from the fixed glass, as the double glazed panel is bonded to the opening frame.
The edge profile of the flat roof is kept to a minimum by dropping the ceiling height to include the insulation. All the critical design choices were based on the external impression.
