Queens Gardens Project Details

Halls and landings often play a more functional role in the home than aesthetic, and can feel like dead spaces. Not so in this townhouse, where a 3 paneled glass landing has been installed to aid the transfer of light between floors.

Building regulations dictated that the floor must be fire-rated, so it was glazed using Cantifix's Floorglaze (TM) range. Floorglaze is available with fire ratings of either 30 minutes (F30), or 60 minutes (F60) insulation and integrity.

The glass floor opens up the space below, making it feel tall and airy. It also allows both floors to share the available natural light throughout the day, and becomes a real focal point in the narrow landing above.
