Project Details
It is not always the case that an extension should be more than just a design statement. This small glass box does not add greatly to the usable space within the house, but it dramatically improves the quality of the light and the impact of the new kitchen.
The vertical panel of glass above the sliding door supports the frame work without the need for a transom. The door itself slides in front of the wall when it is open and therefore disappears completely when viewed from within.
The roof and vertical glass continues over the top of the adjacent cloakroom with the dividing panel in sandblasted glass for privacy.
