Incorporating a two level extension into a house built on a steep hill has many challenges. Conversely the nature of the site also dictates the design and creates a fascinating flow of spaces.
The ground floor is essentially an extension to the kitchen and dining area. The extra space means this room has become the heart of the house with a multitude of functions. The large sliding doors and fixed glass panels allow life to spill outside when the weather allows it, whilst also bringing the garden closer to the inside.
The folding doors downstairs are more functional as are the rooms, which include a gym and a cinema.
