Project Details

Creating a glass link between the house and the existing garage has allowed the owners to incorporate an office into their home. The glazed area had a multitude of functions and it was important to keep the structure as minimal as possible to allow the design to complement its surroundings.
Most glass Companies would have installed a conventional framed ridge roof which would have dominated the space. Through consultation with the Architects, Cantifix proposed a structural glass roof, where the two panels are self-supporting along the ridge. At either end the shaped vertical glass bonds the structure together with no additional framework.
This solution did require a crane to install the glass, but the finished effect certainly compensates for the extra expense.
