Slackwood.

The client needed to extend his home to create spaces where family and friends could gather and enjoy the views over a relaxing meal. They also wanted to build something unique that would enhance their enjoyment of their surroundings and allow them to pursue their passion for bird-watching and nature.

project details

  • The new extension has been cut into landscape and the curved glass walls follow the contours making it appear to nest in the environment.
  • Sky-frame sliding doors open out onto the patio from both the extension and dining space to create a fully integrated living experience.
  • The glass roof is supported on tapered glass beams and set into the house walls for a seamless transition between inside and outside.
  • The clever lighting produces an intimate feeling at night, despite the fact you are surrounded by transparent walls and ceilings.
