Two Cocks Farm.

A new home was designed to blend with the surrounding countryside and become an essential part of the fully working farm and brewery. The clients had recently given up their stressful London lifestyles to find a new rural existence; however they wanted to bring some luxury urban touches to this new purpose.

project details

  • The sliding glass wall of 6 metres x 3.15 metres is the largest ever built in the UK and to make it more difficult it has to slide up and down hill.
  • As the sliding door weighs over a tonne it had to be motorised, with the chain link mechanism buried in the flint walls.
  • The Pureglaze technology was used to increase the overall insulation value of the glass wall- not just a spectacular feature, but a practical one too.
  • As if the one-off commission wasn’t complicated enough, the installation was filmed by Channel 4 for Grand Designs.
